Overview

Back to Hub

In this short clip, Tuffaha Natour describes her life in the village of Amqa near Acre before 1948, and recalls the memories of her displacement.

Tufaha Natour describes the simple agricultural life in Amqa prior to its depopulation in 1948, her memories of the attacks on the village in July 1948, and her later ‘visits’ to Amqa as an ‘internally displaced person’ (IDP) attempting to continue harvesting Amqa’s rich harvest. Although living very close to her original village, Tufaha along with all the village’s residents are denied their rights to live on their historic lands.
