Physicians for Human Rights – Israel and Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) have documented obstacles placed by the occupation that prevent Palestinian women from accessing proper treatment for breast cancer, in violation of international law. Although breast cancer is one of the most treatable forms of cancer, for Palestinian women diagnosed with the disease estimates of five-year survival rates can be as low as 40 percent.

This factsheet documents how the occupation prevents Palestinian women from receiving proper treatment for breast cancer, one of the most treatable forms of cancer but one for which Palestinian women have significantly lower survival rates, due to the obstacles placed in front of them by Israeli authorities.
