About Makan

Makan is a Palestinian-led educational organisation that strengthens voices for Palestinian rights. We contribute to transforming the existing narrative on Palestine/Israel to one that upholds freedom, justice and equality for all. We do this by delivering educational programmes and training on Palestine & intersecting struggles, building useful resources and tools for Palestine advocates, and connecting people and organisations active on the issue to one another. In this way, we help to strengthen the Palestine movement in Britain and, by extension, the global movement pushing for freedom for Palestinians.

We envision a world where Palestinians are free from oppression, and are living in freedom, justice, equality, and dignity. We recognise that the freedom of Palestinians is intertwined with the freedom of oppressed peoples everywhere, and that we are therefore in collective struggle.
