‘Reconnecting Gaza, Empowering the Future’ – Makan & 7amleh joint webinar

We were honoured to co-host an online mini-lecture with our partner 7amleh, highlighting their critical work on digital rights and presenting key insights following their latest report, “Gaza Telecommunications Infrastructure: Assessment of Damages and Humanitarian Impact.”

The session was facilitated by Makan’s Programmes & Outreach Manager, Sarona, who spoke alongside Jalal, 7amleh’s Advocacy Manager. Together, they led an important conversation exploring the role of telecommunications and digital rights in the Palestinian struggle, particularly in the context of the ongoing genocide in Gaza.

The speakers shed light on Israel’s systematic de-development of Palestinian telecommunications infrastructure as a settler-colonial tactic, and discussed how digital rights can be leveraged in the broader struggle for Palestinian liberation.
