Palestine: an Indigenous and Anti-Imperialist Struggle
May 18 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
As part of Bristol Transformed, Makan will deliver a session on Palestine: an Indigenous and Anti-Imperialist Struggle. Participants will explore the concepts of indigeneity, settler-colonialism, and imperialism to understand Palestine as both a local Indigenous struggle for decolonisation as well as part of a global anti-imperialist struggle, and explore how together these frameworks shape our demands and strategies. Through facilitating a safe discussion space, participants will be given the chance to expand their skills when talking about Palestine by going through talking points heard in the wider public conversation, and we will collectively analyse these arguments and how to respond to them.
This session will combine lecture with group interactivity, and is appropriate for people who have a foundational knowledge on Palestine.
