Makan Signs Unified Call to Confront Famine in Gaza

Makan is proud to stand with over 700 organisations from around the world in signing the Unified Call to Confront Famine in Gaza led by the Global Centre for the Responsibility to Protect.
This open letter is a critical appeal to governments and international communities to act now to prevent further mass starvation in Gaza. It urgently calls to break the siege, open the crossings, end the starvation, and launch the diplomatic humanitarian convoy now.
As the statement outlines: “Starvation is a weapon of war”. It is clear that this lack of essential aid entering Gaza is a direct violation of international law. You can learn more about how Israel’s actions have created the conditions for famine in Gaza by exploring our explainer Engineered Famine in Gaza.
At Makan, we believe in the power of collective action. Confronting famine is not only a moral responsibility but a legal and political one, demanding an end to the genocide and international intervention to stop the ongoing destruction of Palestinian life. You can read the full statement here.
